Centennial secures Allison Basford to lead $900m national development pipeline
Seasoned property executive Allison Basford joins Centennial as Head of Development, bringing over 20 years’ industry experience in delivering large scale development outcomes
Mrs Basford was previously CEO of Space Urban (A Borg Company), where she established a property business for one of Australia’s largest privately owned manufacturers, the Borg Group
At Centennial she will lead Centennial’s ~$900m national development pipeline spanning industrial, retail and residential projects within its $2.8bn portfolio of assets under management
SYDNEY, NSW: Centennial is continuing to attract some of the country’s best property professionals with its latest hire, Allison Basford strengthening its national leadership team as Head of Development, responsible for activity across all industry sectors.
Based in Centennial’s Sydney headquarters, Mrs Basford joins the national property investment and development group following a five year tenure as Chief Executive Officer of Space Urban, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Borg Group, and one of Australia’s largest privately owned manufacturing businesses with over 3,000 employees.
Under her stewardship at Space Urban, Mrs Basford established an integrated property development, design and asset management team to grow the freehold property portfolio, that now includes more than 210 industrial, rural and commercial sites around the country.
At Centennial, Mrs Basford will be responsible for the delivery of a national development pipeline currently worth over $900m of projects across its industrial, retail and residential portfolio.
Centennial’s Chief Operating Officer, Matt Knox said her extensive experience over a twenty-year career working in real estate development, will be a valuable asset to Centennial as it continues its growth trajectory.
“Allison’s broad multi-sector experience across the property spectrum together with her strong industry connections, and board and committee representations complements the skillset of our 60-strong team that works closely with our network of longstanding investors and clients.”
Mr Knox said Allison’s experience in major rezonings, planning approvals and technically complex assets, was highlighted by impressive results in asset value creation and driven by decisive planning and financial discipline.
“Her experience across the full property development lifecycle was acquired from a career beginning in local government and planning,” Mr Knox said. “Allison then moved into client-side project management to deliver major supply chain and logistics transformation programs in senior roles at CSR Limited and TMX Global and she will be an asset to Centennial.”
A strong industry advocate, Mrs Basford has held a number of board and committee positions, including membership of the Property Council of Australia’s (PCA) Industrial and Logistics Committee, Chair of the Urban Development Institute of Australia’s (UDIA) Central Coast Committee and an advisory board member of Ronald McDonald House Charities.
